Cooking lessons
If you would like to enjoy a unique culinary experience while in Gozo, then our personalized cooking classes may be just the thing for you. We offer bespoke and stepped classes, in simple or advanced cookery depending on your needs, whether you are an experienced chef in need of polishing your pastry and baking skills, or simply interested in learning more about Gozitan Cookery, we can design a class to meet your needs.
Usually classes are held between 9am and 1pm where 3 to 4 dishes (local and Mediterranean cuisine) are prepared followed by lunch. Upon request, dishes may vary from home-made pasta, to bread making, baking and delicious fish dishes. It all depends on the season and the ingredients available. Supporting local farmers is of utmost importance and all is kept local as much as possible.
Wine Tasting Experience
Tal-Massar boutique winery conducts vineyard tours and wine tastings every Tuesday and Saturday. Enjoy a tour on this private estate with breathtaking views of the medieval village of Għarb.
Taste different wines whilst enjoying authentic Gozitan finger foods, meet the owners and find out about their passion for the cultivation of vines and the production of their wines.
Mosaic Lessons
Interested in learning a new art? Mosaic is an art form made with small pieces of coloured glass, stone, or other materials. Individual pieces fit together to form a design. Mosaics can decorate ceilings, floors, walls, sidewalks, and furniture. People of many cultures have used mosaic art over the years. Tap into your artistic side and let our tutor guide you and teach you this ancient art form.
Painting Lessons
There is no better feeling than sitting with your sketchbook on your lap, the sun warming your back as you marvel at the brand new landscape before you. Stunning scenery, beautiful buildings and churches, unusual sounds, sweet aromas carried on a balmy breeze… The stimulation of a different country can bring out the best in an artist. Together with our tutor, you will paint and sketch, relax and explore out-of-the-way places. We have selected the very best painting locations so that you can get to work in a range of memorable painting spots.
Ta’ Mena Estate
Ta' Mena Estate was one of the first agritourism centres in Malta, established in the early 1970s, that started out by inviting people to pick their own fruit and vegetables. Ta’ Mena Estate is set within the beautiful and tranquil countryside in Marsalforn valley and there, they grow their own strawberries, melons, tomatoes and many other fruits and vegetables. The Estate has over 10 hectares of vineyards and a large olive grove allowing a fantastic wine and extra virgin olive oil produce. Here you can enjoy the good food and relax under an olive tree, while escaping the sun. Local produce, such as the famous Gozo Honey are an ideal gift to take back home with you. A few of the activities that can be organized at Ta’ Mena include:
Guided tours around the estate followed by wine and food tastings;
Fruit picking according to season: eg. strawberry picking, grape harvest, olive harvest;
Cooking sessions of traditional dishes (minimum 10 persons);
Barbeque evenings (minimum 10 persons);
Group functions and celebrations
