Sustainability
The Duke Boutique Hotel has a long-standing commitment to sustainability and responsible hospitality. Having previously been certified under the Malta Tourism Authority’s Eco Certification scheme, we are proud to have now achieved Green Key certification, an internationally recognised eco-label for sustainable hotels. Our philosophy is built on caring for the environment, supporting our community, and operating responsibly. We actively work to reduce waste, conserve energy and water, and prioritise sustainable products and practices wherever possible. We support our local community through fair employment, cultural engagement, and collaboration with local organisations, while remaining focused on long-term sustainability through ethical decision-making and continuous improvement. These principles guide our daily operations and shape our vision for the future, ensuring that the experience we offer is positive both for our guests and for Gozo.
If we all work together, we can make a difference!
Our Guiding Principles - Our approach to hospitality is grounded in leadership, inclusivity, transparency, integrity, and continuous improvement. We continue to invest in efficient systems, modern equipment, and improved operational structures to reduce our environmental impact. Since first being certified under the Malta Tourism Authority’s Eco Certification scheme in 2018, The Duke Boutique Hotel has maintained the same high standards and is proud to have now achieved Green Key certification, an internationally recognised sustainability eco-label for hotels.
